Individuals and businesses β account and team setup
Sign up, confirm email, create or join a team, invite members, and understand roles for owners and collaborators.
This guide assumes you use the individual or organization path from the sign-up screen.
1. Create your user account
- Visit Sign up (
/auth/sign-up) and choose individual or organization (wording may vary). - Enter your email and follow the magic link (or complete password fields if offered).
- Complete any profile or workspace name steps in the onboarding wizard.
You now have:
- A personal workspace (for your individual settings and, where enabled, personal billing).
- A team workspace created as part of onboarding (your primary company or solo team).
2. Switch into the team workspace
Use the account switcher in the application header to select your team slug. Most operational screens require a team context; URLs look like /home/your-team-slug/....
3. Invite your colleagues
- Navigate to Members at
/home/[account]/members. - Send invitations by email.
- Assign a role appropriate to each person:
- Owner β Full control, including member management on that team (exact permission names depend on deployment).
- Member β Participates in workflows and daily work; may have limited settings access.
- Additional roles (for example workflow admin, public site reviewer) may exist as custom or seeded roles.
Invited users follow the link, sign in or sign up, and then appear under Members.
4. Team settings
Under Settings at /home/[account]/settings you can usually update:
- Team name and slug (if permitted)
- Logo or branding elements tied to the workspace
- Locale or translation options where the feature is enabled (
/home/[account]/settings/translations, coverage reports, and similar)
5. Joining an existing team instead
If you were invited before creating your own team, accept the invitation from email. You may skip creating a new team or merge into the invited team according to the flow you see. The Join route (/join) handles invitation tokens.
Security tips
- Use a strong, unique password if password auth is enabled.
- Prefer magic links on trusted devices when available.
- Limit owner roles to people who should control member removal and other sensitive settings.
